Project Overview
At Babar Dawood, we designed and installed a state-of-the-art aluminium pergola for FOMO Cousina and Lounge, a stylish dining destination located on the Ground Floor of the B2B Office Tower, Business Bay, Dubai. Known for its eclectic ambiance and vibrant setting, FOMO wanted to enhance their outdoor seating area, giving it a modern, functional, and aesthetically appealing upgrade that maximizes seating capacity throughout the year.
Key Challenges & Solutions
Our team navigated several distinct architectural and physical challenges during this project:
β’ Dubai’s Harsh Climate: To withstand sandstorms and intense summer heat, we utilized a high-grade, corrosion-resistant aluminium frame and weather-resistant louvers requiring minimal upkeep.
β’ Space Optimization: The layout was meticulously configured to integrate smoothly with the loungeβs existing floor plan, ensuring excellent guest movement and server flow.
β’ Regulatory Compliance: We coordinated with the Dubai Municipality to ensure the structure strictly adhered to local building guidelines, maintaining a minimum of 50% structural transparency and staying within the 3-meter height limit.
β’ Atmospheric Lighting: Integrating ambient LED strips seamlessly within the structural joints was critical for creating a warm, vibrant night-lounge ambiance.
Materials & Execution
The structural framework was fabricated from premium, lightweight, and durable aluminium profiles finished with a natural wood-grain effect. This approach offers the warm, organic look of wood while providing the durability of metal.
Following clean pre-fabrication in our Sharjah facility, the modular segments were securely anchored on-site. The final touches included installing vertical plant features, potted greenery, and integrated, soft LED strip lights to complete the nature-inspired modern aesthetic.
